Typical Structure of Decanter Centrifuge Drum

The Decanter centrifuge, commonly known as 'decanter,' is ingeniously structured with a drum, screw, differential, frame, cover, and more. The drum and screw synchronize in rotational harmony at a precise differential speed, both revolving in the same direction.

Material is efficiently and continuously channeled into the spiral inner cylinder via the feed pipe, then propelled at high speed into the rotating drum. Under the intense influence of centrifugal force, the heavier solid particles are effectively deposited on the drum wall, forming a sediment layer. The screw systematically pushes the sludge towards the end of the drum cone, where it is expertly expelled from the machine through the discharge port.

The lighter liquid phase gracefully creates an inner liquid ring, seamlessly spilling from the drum through the overflow port at the drum's larger end, and elegantly exiting the machine via the drain port. This precise mechanism achieves a highly efficient liquid-solid two-phase separation or a sophisticated liquid-liquid-solid three-phase separation.
