Typical Structure of Decanter Centrifuge Drum

The decanter centrifuge, commonly referred to as the 'decanter,' is expertly engineered with integral components such as the drum, screw, differential, frame, and cover. During operation, both the drum and screw harmoniously rotate in concert, maintaining a precise differential speed to ensure optimal efficiency.

The material is smoothly channeled into the inner spiral cylinder via the feed pipe, where it is rapidly accelerated into the rotating drum. Within this dynamic setting, centrifugal force compels the denser solid particles to settle along the drum's wall, forming a well-defined sediment layer. The screw adeptly transports this sludge to the drum cone's endpoint, where it is expertly expelled from the machine through the designated discharge outlet.

Simultaneously, the lighter liquid phase forms an elegant inner liquid ring, cascading effortlessly through the overflow port located at the drum's larger end. This liquid then drains gracefully from the machine through the drain port, achieving an impeccable liquid-solid two-phase or liquid-liquid-solid three-phase separation process.
