Typical Structure of Decanter Centrifuge Drum

The Decanter Centrifuge, commonly referred to as 'decanter,' primarily comprises a drum, screw, differential, frame, cover, and more. The drum and screw rotate in the same direction, maintaining a specific differential speed.

Material is continuously introduced into the spiral inner cylinder through the feed pipe and then accelerated into the rotating drum. Under centrifugal force, the denser solid substances deposit onto the drum wall, creating a sediment layer. The screw steadily advances the sludge towards the drum cone's end, where it is then expelled from the machine via the discharge port.

The lighter liquid phase forms the inner liquid ring, which steadily flows out of the drum via the overflow port at the drum's broad end, finally exiting the machine through the drain port. This process adeptly facilitates liquid-solid two-phase separation or liquid-liquid-solid three-phase separation.
