Typical Structure of Decanter Centrifuge Drum

The decanter centrifuge, affectionately known as the 'decanter,' is a marvel of engineering, elegantly crafted with essential components including the drum, screw, differential, frame, and cover. During its seamless operation, both the drum and screw rotate with a harmonious unison, maintaining a specific differential speed to enhance operational efficiency.

Material is gracefully introduced into the inner spiral cylinder through the feed pipe, where it undergoes swift acceleration into the rotating drum. Within this dynamic environment, centrifugal force compels the denser solid particles to settle along the drum's wall, forming a distinct sediment layer. The screw efficiently guides this sludge towards the drum cone's endpoint, where it is expertly expelled from the machine through the designated discharge outlet.

Simultaneously, the lighter liquid phase forms a refined inner liquid ring, cascading through the overflow port located at the drum's larger end. This liquid then elegantly drains from the machine via the drain port, achieving flawless liquid-solid two-phase or liquid-liquid-solid three-phase separation.
