Typical Structure of Decanter Centrifuge Drum

The decanter centrifuge, often simply referred to as the 'decanter,' is ingeniously crafted with fundamental components such as the drum, screw, differential, frame, and cover. During operation, both the drum and screw rotate harmoniously in unison, maintaining a specific differential speed to maximize efficiency.

Material is introduced with finesse into the inner spiral cylinder via the feed pipe, where it is swiftly accelerated into the rotating drum. In this dynamic environment, centrifugal force propels the denser solid particles to settle along the drum's wall, forming a distinct sediment layer.
The screw systematically advances this sludge towards the drum cone's endpoint, where it is expertly expelled from the machine through the designated discharge outlet.

Concurrently, the lighter liquid phase forms an elegant inner liquid ring, cascading effortlessly through the overflow port located at the drum's larger end. This liquid then drains gracefully from the machine via the drain port, achieving flawless liquid-solid two-phase or liquid-liquid-solid three-phase separation.
