Typical Structure of Decanter Centrifuge Drum

Elegantly engineered, the decanter centrifuge-often simply called the 'decanter'-comprises vital components like the drum, screw, differential, frame, and cover. During operation, the drum and screw rotate in synchrony, maintaining a precise differential speed to optimize efficiency.

Material enters seamlessly into the inner spiral cylinder via the feed pipe, where it rapidly accelerates into the rotating drum. In this dynamic environment, centrifugal force drives denser solid particles to settle along the drum's wall, forming a distinct sediment layer. The screw efficiently conveys this sludge toward the drum cone's endpoint, where it is expertly expelled from the machine through the designated discharge outlet.

Concurrently, the lighter liquid phase forms an elegant inner liquid ring, effortlessly cascading through the overflow port at the drum's larger end, gracefully draining from the machine through the drain port. This process perfects the liquid-solid two-phase or liquid-liquid-solid three-phase separation.
