Typical Structure of Decanter Centrifuge Drum

The decanter centrifuge, commonly referred to as the 'decanter,' is ingeniously crafted with essential components such as the drum, screw, differential, frame, and cover. During operation, both the drum and screw rotate harmoniously in unison, maintaining a specific differential speed that optimizes efficiency for unparalleled performance.

 

Material is delivered smoothly into the inner spiral cylinder through the feed pipe, where it is swiftly propelled into the rotating drum. Within this dynamic environment, centrifugal force ensures denser solid particles are guided to settle along the drum's wall, forming a distinct sediment layer. The screw elegantly transports this sludge towards the drum cone's endpoint, where it is expertly expelled from the machine through the designated discharge outlet.

 

At the same time, the lighter liquid phase creates an elegant inner liquid ring, cascading effortlessly through the overflow port at the drum's larger end. This liquid then exits gracefully from the machine via the drain port, achieving perfect liquid-solid two-phase or liquid-liquid-solid three-phase separation with ease and efficiency.
