Typical Structure of Decanter Centrifuge Drum

The decanter centrifuge, affectionately termed the 'decanter,' boasts a robust construction comprising the drum, screw, differential, frame, and cover. During operation, the drum and screw harmoniously rotate in the same direction at a set differential speed, ensuring efficiency and precision.

Material is continuously fed into the spiral inner cylinder via the feed pipe, where it is accelerated into the rotating drum. Here, centrifugal force plays its crucial role, causing denser solids to settle against the drum's wall, forming a sediment layer. The screw works dynamically, propelling the sludge towards the drum cone's end, where it is efficiently discharged through the designated port.

Simultaneously, the lighter liquid phase elegantly forms an inner liquid ring, which effortlessly spills out through the overflow port at the drum's larger end, eventually exiting the machine through the drain port, achieving a flawless liquid-solid two-phase separation or a liquid-liquid-solid three-phase separation.
