Typical structure of decanter centrifuge drum

The decanter centrifuge, often simply called the 'decanter,' features a robust construction with essential components like the drum, screw, differential, frame, and cover. During operation, both the drum and screw rotate synchronously in the same direction at a specified differential speed, ensuring optimal performance.

Material is continuously introduced into the spiral inner cylinder through the feed pipe, where it is swiftly accelerated into the dynamic rotating drum. Here, the powerful centrifugal force takes effect, drawing the denser solid materials to settle against the drum's wall, forming a concentrated sediment layer. The screw expertly navigates the sludge towards the drum cone's end, facilitating efficient discharge from the machine through the designated discharge port.

Simultaneously, the lighter liquid phase forms an inner liquid ring, elegantly spilling through the overflow port at the drum's larger end, subsequently draining from the machine via the drain port. This seamless process achieves flawless liquid-solid two-phase separation or liquid-liquid-solid three-phase separation, showcasing the machine's versatility.
