Typical Structure of Decanter Centrifuge Drum

The decanter centrifuge, or 'decanter,' is ingeniously designed with components such as the drum, screw, differential, frame, and cover. The drum and screw harmoniously rotate at a specific differential speed in the same direction;

The material is continuously fed into the spiral inner cylinder through a feed pipe, subsequently accelerating into the rotating drum. Under centrifugal force, the heavier solid substances deposit on the drum wall, forming a sediment layer. The screw persistently drives the sludge towards the drum cone's end, discharging it from the machine via the discharge port.

The lighter liquid phase forms an inner liquid ring, continuously spilling out of the drum through the overflow port at the drum's larger end and draining out of the machine via the drain port, thus achieving liquid-solid two-phase or liquid-liquid-solid three-phase separation.
